Brian Micino Njoroge

Micino is a highly experienced, multi-skilled and committed food science and nutrition professional with 19 years’ work experience in the private and international development sectors. He also has 10 years of experience in part-time governance activities on various boards.
 
Micino has been privileged to successfully serve various diverse roles in key internationally funded projects and in the private sector. This has afforded him rich work experience in the food industry, public health, implementation research and Agri-food systems. Further, it has socialized him in the philosophy of respect for others, strongly inculcating in him the values of humility, integrity, accountability, and prioritizing greater good over individualism. Throughout various assignments I have consistently demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, sound temperament and resilience, both in work and life experiences. Micino maintains a constant commitment to working diligently and cooperatively to always improve others and the environment where he serves.
 
As a leader and manager, Micino possess strong blend of technical (food science & technology, public health nutrition, agri-food systems) analytical, critical thinking, financial management, leadership, and people management skills tailored to ensure effectiveness and drive operational excellence.
 
He possess effective communication skills, knowledge brokering and good temperament when engaging with various audiences. On a day-to-day basis my work ethic and focus are to drive operational efficiency, and technical excellence within the organization, he's privileged to serve.
 
Micino's educational and professional qualifications as a technologist and graduate of Food Science, Technology & Nutrition, an operations Management specialist serve as the foundation for 19 years work experience. This experience is balanced between 4 years in the food industry, 6 years in public health nutrition, 5 years in multisector agriculture and food systems, 3 years in implementation research and 1 year in Agriculture market systems.
 
He has been part of two successful project bidding and development teams that were awarded two national projects in Kenya, namely Kenya Nutrition & HIV project awarded to Academy for Educational Development (AED) – 2008 - 2013, and Kenya Nutrition and Health program – plus (awarded to FHI360)– 2015 - 2019.
